5 clean products for dry skin

5 clean products for dry skin

From a young age my mother instilled this skincare mantra: always wash your face, wear sunscreen and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

Those three skincare pillars have never let me down. I wash my face every night, wear sunscreen everyday, and hydrate in between. Finding a moisturizer that works well with my skin has been a tricky journey. I have very sensitive, dry skin, so anything that doesn’t work causes redness, irritation and flakiness.

Hydration is the key to youthful, healthy skin. Applying a moisturizer consistently allows your skin to repair itself, plump up fine lines and prevent premature aging. It also creates an efficient skin barrier that blocks free radicals and pollution from causing damage to your face.

Here are five non-toxic moisturizers for dry skin:

This little pot of magic has over 1,000 reviews on Amazon — many touting the benefits of this all-natural, all-purpose skin cream. I use it on my face at night, massage it on my cuticles and elbows before settling into bed. And it’s (dare I say…) more hydrating than coconut oil. And probably less expensive, too! Grab this miracle cream here for about $30. (Image via Skincare Bangladesh)

This moisturizer is my dry skin savior. It smoothes and soften dry, rough skin without being too oily. And it smells delightful with soothing, healing pansy, chamomile and calendula extracts. I use it day (and night before I put on my Egyptian Magic) underneath my sunscreen (another pillar!). (Imgae via Dermstore)

Maya Chia The Super Couple

This face oil is basically a moisture and antioxidant shot, but without the needle. The Super Couple is combines one of the world’s most powerful antioxidants, astaxanthin, with nature’s #1 superfood, chia, rich with skin-loving omega fatty acids, antioxidants & minerals. Astaxanthin is an anti-aging powerhouse to combat the appearance of dull, tired, aging skin. Some studies show that natural astaxanthin is 65 times stronger than Vitamin C. Let me tell you, I found noticed a difference! (Image via Shen Beauty)

Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil

Another face oil that is basically alchemy; Pai Rosehip is certified organic and certified vegan while being the most concentrated oil on the market. Rosehip refines the appearance of damaged skin and fine lines and is often used as a natural alternative to retinol. You’ll notice the deep orange color, which is due to high levels of carotenoids, may stain clothing so be careful when applying! (Image via Pai Skincare)

Rica Body Lotion

Just a few short weeks ago I found the queen of all body lotions: the Rica Butter All Over lotion… or should I say actual whipped cream. This is a rich, all-natural and fluffy shea butter that’ll rid your dryness for good! Use it all over, but I like to just use it for my body. This moisturizer hydrates your body with shea, coconut, avocado and passionfruit oils. Heavenly. (Image via Rica Body)

It was important to us to share non-toxic or clean beauty products with you because we believe in being environmentally-friendly and trusting the products you use because it’s close to our mission: to combat fast fashion and create a full-circle movement.

    Hey Evo!

My two favorite sunscreen brands are Beautycounter and Suntegrity! They protect my skin without harsh chemicals. I use Beautycounter’s sunscreen spray everyday over the Weleda Skin Food moisturizer :)

You mentioned layering the moisturizer with sunscreen. I’d love a recommendation on what sunscreens have worked well for you! The past 3 I’ve tried have irritated my skin like crazy.
